Canson Infinity papers: photographic and Fine Art
The Canson Infinity range brings together photographic and fine art papers. From satin to watercolour texture, each surface changes how an image is seen.
Edition Etching Rag
Canson Infinity Edition Etching Rag is a 310 g/m², 100% cotton matt paper with a subtle grain. Its texture adds character without immediately dominating the image. It can suit portraits, landscapes or reproductions where a matt, tactile surface is wanted. This description refers to Edition Etching Rag; version II is a separate product to specify when choosing.
Aquarelle Rag
Canson Infinity Aquarelle Rag is a matt cotton paper with a texture reminiscent of watercolour paper. Its relief can support a painterly image, but changes the perception of very fine detail. For artwork reproduction, assess the grain against the original: additional texture is not always desirable. Confirm the available weight and version with the studio.
Satin photographic papers
The name “Photo Premium Satin” in our presentations refers to a satin photographic finish. Canson offers PhotoSatin Premium RC, an alpha-cellulose paper with an RC structure. This manufacturer reference is a comparison point; the full name of the selected paper is confirmed before production. Satin is useful when you want presence with less pronounced reflections than gloss.
Canson canvases
Printing canvas is a woven medium. Its weave becomes part of the result, especially at close range. Choose the exact product, surface finish and treatment to suit the image and planned mounting. For stretched canvas, also plan the edges: extended image, plain border or another agreed approach.
The studio’s advice
Compare an important detail in your image on smooth and textured surfaces. This often makes the choice clearer than a list of names: skin tones, skies, pencil lines and brushstrokes respond differently.

Does Etching mean my image will be engraved?
No. In this printing paper’s name, the word refers to a family of textures and appearances. Your image is printed.
Are Aquarelle Rag and ARCHES Aquarelle Rag identical?
They are different product names. We check the exact paper when making your choice.
