Exhibition 01
Michèle Debrez
The power of gesture,
the presence of figures.
Based in Grasse, Michèle Debrez works in painting and sculpture. In her paintings, the human figure emerges, then blends with the movement of the surface. Blacks, greys and whites meet muted earth tones, punctuated by red or gold.
A selection presented by TH.BALDINI gallery at 43 rue de France in Nice. To find out which works are available and plan your visit, contact the gallery.
The gallery’s perspective
Take time to watch forms emerge.
In this selection, figures do not reveal themselves immediately. A line suggests a face, a bright mark catches the eye, a brushstroke tips the figure towards abstraction. Up close, we follow the gesture; from a distance, its presence returns.
